A large industrial manufacturer of gold and copper was increasingly unable to use its own large parking lot for its own vehicles. Truck drivers from all over the world had chosen the then still freely accessible parking lot near the highway as the perfect rest area to comply with their rest periods. The company parking lot was becoming more and more congested.
For a long period, management tried to use their own security personnel and plant security to expel foreign trucks from the company premises to make room for their own vehicles. For this purpose, vehicles were checked one by one daily, and each driver was addressed. This proved to be extremely difficult due to significant language barriers, as very few drivers spoke German or English. Discussions with the police and towing were part of the daily routine. When permanent parkers also appeared during the holiday season, it was the last straw.
The enormous personnel costs were no longer in proportion to the small benefit. The problem had to be fundamentally eliminated. The management quickly decided on one of our best-selling pneumatic bollard systems consisting of 10 V4A high-security stainless steel bollards with the highest stability.
The installation was completed within a few hours without any problems. Thanks to this fairly simple measure, the company now has almost 1,000 parking spaces available at any time. Own vehicles and those of suppliers can access the premises stress-free and, above all, without delay. In retrospect, a much earlier installation of our bollard system could have saved the company a tremendous amount of money. But as the saying goes: "Hindsight is always 20/20."
