Products and Services
What types of drives do you offer?
electric spindle in the motor
Advantages:
- Easy installation – just connect the power cable
- No significant installation effort
Disadvantages:
- Technology completely integrated in the bollard
- Not IP69 – at risk of failure in heavy rain
- Mechanically sensitive (e.g. under load from people)
- Many sources of error: force sensors, limit switches, motor
- Rapid overheating – insufficient heat dissipation
- Additional components such as heating and drainage required
- Frost risk: Condensate formation in the housing → motor damage
- No protected piston rod (no wiper, no grease chamber, no low-temperature seals)
- Maintenance only by specialized technicians – complex and expensive
- Service costs: approx. 2,500 € per bollard (including travel & spare parts)
Hydraulic drive
Advantages:
- Very powerful (up to 1 ton of pressure force)
Disadvantages:
- Technology completely integrated in the bollard
- No IP69 – at risk of failure in heavy rain
- Hydraulic hose replacement mandatory every 4 years (otherwise no insurance coverage)
- Cost of hose replacement: approx. 2,500 €
- Many sensitive components, poor maintainability
- Heating and drainage necessary
- Frost → Condensate in the motor → Failure
- Piston rod often without stainless steel or sealing protection
- Only specialized technicians possible, high costs
Worst case – cost example:
- Travel: 750 €
- Disassembly by 2 technicians (each 8h): 1,500 €
- Hydraulic pump in the bollard: 1,300 €
- Hotel costs: 200 €
Spare parts:
- Compressor: 180 €
- Valve: 50 €
- 24h express shipping: 10 €
Pneumatic drive
Advantages:
- 450 kg pressure force at 10 Bar
- No technology in the bollard → no defects possible
- Genuine IP69 protection – no failures in water, snow, or salt
- Metal scraper, low-temperature seals (-35 °C), grease chamber, stainless steel piston rod
- Over 500,000 cycles without maintenance
- No limit switches, force sensors, or control needed
- No heating, drainage, or lifting pump required
- No overheating (no motor in the bollard)
- Hose packages up to 500 m feasible
- Maintenance by laypersons possible (e.g. via WhatsApp/Facetime)
- Significantly cheaper in acquisition and maintenance
Worst case – cost example:
- Compressor: 180 €
- Valve: 50 €
- 24h express shipping: 10 €
- Replacement by laypersons possible thanks to quick couplings
Disadvantage:
- Cable/hoses package must be routed into the building or control cabinet
- Compressor requires approximately 50 × 50 × 15 cm of space
Installation, can I do it myself?
Yes, the installation is straightforward and can be done by yourself with some handy skills. Alternatively, you can also hire a landscaping company for this.
This is how the installation works step by step:
Excavate a hole with a depth of about 1.2 m and an area of 80 × 80 cm.
Fill in about 20 cm of sand and compact it thoroughly.
Wrap a sling around the bollard and hold it with two people.
Slowly lower the bollard into the pit and set it down carefully.
Align the bollard precisely with a spirit level.
Fill the pit layer by layer with sand (every 15 cm) and compact each layer thoroughly.
Place paving stones around the bollard at right angles and compact them as well.
Note: The bollard is delivered as a ready-to-connect unit. The commissioning has already been carried out at the factory – so you don't have to adjust anything.
