Application recommendations

Application Recommendations

Occasional use up to continuous use with 1+1000 trips per day

Even more safety?
Use 2-3 silent compressors here, the system then runs synchronously. If one device fails, the operation of the system would not be endangered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I replace the compressor myself if it is defective?
Yes, very easy. The devices have a quick coupling. The exchange takes about 1 minute. No specialist technician is necessary.
Is the device really quiet?
Yes, somewhat louder than a washing machine. In the basement or garage, these devices are best placed. Any combustion engine would be significantly louder than the compressor.
How long does this run?
1 x passage and the device runs for about 30 seconds and then completely shuts down.
Maintenance necessary?
It is sufficient to let the condensate out of the tank every 3 months. Effort about 1 minute. An automatic maintenance module also does this automatically.
Advantages and disadvantages of compressed air compared to electric and others?

There are 3 different drive motors in use from Poller, and these are as follows, which I have written down for you.

electric spindle in the motor

Advantage:

  • connect cable
  • no great effort

Disadvantage:

  • Technology installed in the bollard
  • not IP69 waterproof (the system breaks down in heavy rain)
  • If a person jumps on it, it will break
  • extremely sensitive
  • Too much technology installed, force sensitivity, limit switches, everything can and will break
  • Motors overheat quickly, as heat cannot be dissipated
  • A heating and drainage system must be installed
  • In frost, the motor would be cold, use it 10 times and the motor forms condensate water in the housing, the motor breaks down
  • The piston rod has no protection, no metal scraper, no grease chamber, no low-temperature sealing rings from -35°
  • Service only possible by a specialist technician, complex, everything must be disassembled. Costs per bollard with transport including parts approximately 2500 Euro

Hydraulic drive

Advantage:

  • Powerful, pushes 1 ton (is that needed?)

Disadvantage:

  • Technology installed in the bollard
  • not IP69 waterproof (the system breaks down in heavy rain)
  • Every 4 years a complete oil-hydraulic hose replacement must take place, otherwise no insurance coverage (costs per bollard approximately 2500 Euro)
  • extremely sensitive
  • Too much technology installed, force sensitivity, limit switches, everything can and will break, everything is installed in the bollard. Poor maintenance and access
  • A heating and drainage system must be installed
  • In frost, the motor would be cold, use it 10 times and the motor forms condensate water in the housing, the motor breaks down
  • The piston rod has no protection, usually no stainless steel, no metal scraper, no grease chamber, no low-temperature sealing rings from -35°
  • Service only possible by a specialist technician, complex, everything must be disassembled. Costs per bollard with transport including parts approximately 2500 Euro
  • Costs in the worst case:
  • Compressor: 180 Euro
  • Valve: 50 Euro
  • Shipping costs 24h express 10 Euro

Costs in the worst case:

Transport costs approximately: 750 Euro

Dismantling the bollard, 2 men for 8 hours approximately 1500 Euro

Hydraulic pump installed in the bollard approximately 1300 Euro

Hotel costs if the second day or parts are needed approximately 200 Euro

Pneumatic drive

Advantage:

  • Powerful, pushes about 450kg at 10Bar
  • No technology built into the bollard, so nothing can break
  • Genuine IP69 waterproof, flooding, heavy rain, snow, water, road salt no problem
  • Piston rod has metal wipers, low-temperature sealing rings with -35°, grease chamber, stainless steel piston rod (all made in Germany)
  • Lift cylinder operates well over 500,000 cycles without maintenance
  • No built-in force sensitivity, limit switch, control, (not required for compressed air)
  • Heating, lifting pump, drainage is not needed
  • Overheating not possible, as there is no built-in motor in the bollard
  • Cable/hose package up to 500 meters possible
  • Valve + quiet compressor is located in the house, easily accessible, easy to replace by laypersons
  • Significantly cheaper to purchase, costs, replacement,

Costs in the worst case:

Compressor: 180 Euro

Valve: 50 Euro

Shipping costs 24h express 10 Euro

(Replacement can be done by laypersons, each component has a quick coupling)

Support is also possible via WhatsApp video, FaceTime, etc...

Disadvantage:

  • Cable package must be brought into the house, or the control cabinet must be relocated. Compressor takes up about 50 x 50 x 15cm of space
