Die Schattenseite des Tourismus

The dark side of tourism

Zell am See, located in the middle of the Alps and not far from Salzburg, offers a lot of nature and attractions for tourists and travelers. Summer and winter, the idyllic place is the tourism magnet in the Salzburg region. From mid-May to mid-October, for example, the "Zeller Seezauber" enchants the senses of many visitors several times a day. A special show for eyes, ears, with a lot of emotion.

Zell am See has all of this. Only one thing it doesn't have: enough parking spaces. It often happens that especially near the lakeshore everything is parked up. Of course, this is a constant annoyance for residents and business people alike. This was also the case for our customer, a shop owner directly on the lake promenade. Due to many illegal parkers, suppliers could no longer access his business. Loading and unloading was almost impossible during the peak season. And having to call the towing service every time was not a long-term solution either.

Three pneumatic V4A stainless steel bollards now protect the valuable 40 sqm in front of the store. For delivery traffic, they are only lowered briefly, allowing the loading process to proceed quickly and stress-free. When extended, the bollards blend harmoniously into the streetscape and do not obstruct pedestrians.

One aspect was particularly important to our customer: adverse weather conditions and road salt must not damage the bollards. Zell am See is often exposed to harsh winters with a lot of snow and ice. Consequently, a lot of road salt is used. In this regard, we were able to reassure our customer. The V4A stainless steel bollards are reliable even in the most extreme weather conditions. They do not freeze solid, are resistant to road salt, and even meltwater cannot harm the waterproof technology installed.
