This caused her to have a cramp, which made her - unable to prevent it - accelerate fully and crash her Mercedes A-Class unbraked towards the hospital entrance. At a speed of about 65 km/h, the vehicle was stopped by one of our security bollards, preventing further acceleration. The group of 15 people standing directly behind the bollard in front of the entrance remained unharmed. The security bollard held firm and remained 100% intact - there was no change in gap dimensions. Only the oil had to be wiped off.
Of course, everyone was very glad that the safety measures could prevent worse outcomes. Fortunately, the driver of the car survived and is doing well again today.
So in the end it resulted in property damage - the 1.5 tons A-Class was a case for the scrapyard...
