Sometimes a project takes a little longer – which makes the result all the better. At this detached house, our retractable bollards were integrated into the newly designed driveway as part of extensive groundworks. The customer sent us his testimonial along with photos:
“Smart property protection without visual barriers: our generous driveway area at the end of a cul-de-sac was regularly misused by delivery drivers for manoeuvring.
The solution was a retractable bollard from Braun Antriebe, fully integrated into the KNX home automation system. This allows the barrier to be controlled flexibly and coupled perfectly with the outdoor lighting, with the red LED light ring serving as a clear visual boundary in the dark.
Safety is ensured by a safety loop laid in the ground, which blocks the system as soon as a vehicle is standing over the bollard. Technical highlights such as the low-maintenance pneumatic drive and construction from robust V4A stainless steel guarantee a long service life. The result is fully automated, protected private property that can do without fences or barriers.”

In the evening, the surrounding LED light ring takes over the visual boundary – discreet, but impossible to miss.
The technology at a glance
We used our retractable barrier bollard made of V4A stainless steel with pneumatic drive – low-maintenance, corrosion-resistant and with a programmable LED light ring. Via volt-free contacts, the system can be integrated into any smart home or KNX installation; an induction loop in the ground prevents the bollard from rising as long as a vehicle is standing over it.
